List a batch against one of your sites and the platform ranks every counterpart listing within 50 km that carries the same EWC code and whose availability window overlaps yours, nearest and best-fitting first. Distances are site to site, not county to county; pins on the map sit at county centres until a deal is agreed, so nobody's site address is exposed to a stranger. You can also browse the open market in full and start a conversation yourself, without waiting to be matched.

Then the listing sits on the open market and you are told when something that fits it appears. Nothing about listing a batch commits you to moving it through the platform, and a listing that finds no home costs you nothing. We are building the network haulier-first and county by county; the honest answer before launch is that density is what the first months are for.

You do, and no. Rates are stated by the parties and the platform displays them without setting, capping, suggesting or ranking on them. It never holds funds and is not a party to your deal: money moves directly between the two businesses on the terms you agreed. What is charged is a software fee for the compliance records the platform creates, not a commission and not a per-tonne cut.

To agree a deal, yes: both sides sign into their own organisation and the record has two named parties. The one person who does not need an account is whoever signs for a load at the receiving gate; the driver's phone captures that signature without an account on their side.

Yes, and most operators will. A haulier you already use creates their own organisation, puts their waste collection permit on file, and you dispatch to them exactly as you would to anyone else on the network. The permit check is the same for everyone.

Decide that a batch qualifies, agree the commercial terms, and press the buttons. The platform does not certify eligibility for you: BP-N002/2024 is a self-certification route and the assessment is the producer's. What it removes is the retyping. The registration is assembled from what you entered when you listed the batch, the standstill is counted, the Statement of Conformity and End User Declaration are generated, the loads are ticketed, and the invoice is drawn up from the delivered tonnages.

An organisation, one site and one listing is a few minutes. Nothing else is required before you can look at the market. If you want to see the whole flow before creating anything, the sandbox runs the real code against invented companies and needs no account at all.

Every load's events (dispatch, pickup, drop-off, signature) are appended to a hash-chained log: each event carries a sha256 fingerprint of its own content and of the event before it. The whole chain is recomputed every time the record is opened, so a row altered afterwards reads as broken rather than passing quietly. Corrections are new, visible events; nothing is ever edited in place.

Never. Commercial terms are agreed between the parties. The platform's software lets the buyer prepare the self-billed VAT invoice for the supplier to accept, but funds always move directly between the businesses.

A listing shows the material, the tonnage, the window and a county-centre pin; the exact site location is shared when a deal is agreed, not before. Everything else (your deals, your loads, your documents, your compliance records) is scoped to your own organisation, and a counterparty sees only the deal you are both on.

The registration is the producer's self-certification. That is how the regime is designed, and the assessment that a batch qualifies is the producer's alone. What the platform adds is the record: your answers to the criteria's questions captured as a timestamped self-certification, the statutory documents generated in full, and an immutable log of what was declared and what actually moved. ExchangeEarth does not check, assess or verify eligibility.

After a batch is registered with the EPA, no material may be transferred for at least five working days from the date of registration. The criteria do not define “working day”, so the platform counts the conservative reading: registration day is day 0, Monday to Friday, Irish public holidays and observed substitutes excluded. The panel prints the convention it counted by, because an operator relying on that date is entitled to see the basis for it.

Uncontaminated greenfield soil and stone (EWC 17 05 04) meeting the EPA's national by-product criteria. Made ground, contaminated soil, and non-greenfield material do not qualify under this route.

Yes. Article 27 of the European Union (Waste Directive) Regulations (S.I. 323/2020) is the statutory by-product regime, and the EPA's national criteria for greenfield soil and stone (BP-N002/2024, July 2024) define exactly how qualifying material is registered and moved. Material that meets the criteria is a by-product, not waste, so the €10/t waste recovery levy does not apply.

The Statement of Conformity (the producer's declaration that the material meets the criteria) and the End User Declaration (the receiving site's declaration of its intended use, backed by planning permission or an exemption). Both accompany every by-product movement; the platform generates them from the deal data.

The record keeps what was declared, under which reference and on what date, so a registration made under today's criteria stays evidenced as such. Be aware of the current limit: the platform's registration route is built for BP-N002/2024, the national criteria for greenfield soil and stone. Other instruments exist and more may follow, and supporting them is a change to the software rather than something it absorbs on its own. The levy exemptions themselves had to be reviewed by 1 September 2026 under S.I. 441/2024; that deadline passed with nothing published and nothing amended, and the guides carry what could still change.

ExchangeEarth requires third-party hauliers to hold a waste collection permit (NWCPO) covering soil and stones, EWC 17 05 04. It goes on file once and is reviewed before dispatch, with its reference compared against the NWCPO public register. It is your listing credential on the network.

A phone and five minutes. The driver app is four steps: accept, photograph and stamp the pickup, capture the drop-off, get the signature on the glass. One job per screen, targets a gloved thumb can hit, and no typing beyond a tonnage.

What the driver enters is held on the phone, photograph included, and when the signal comes back one press applies it exactly once. The record carries an idempotency key, so a resend after a dropped connection cannot create a second movement.

The platform subscription is free for a limited period from launch. A software charge per compliance record created, currently being finalised, applies from launch and is charged to the site-operator side. It is not a commission and is not priced per tonne.

Subscription pricing is introduced with clear advance notice, at a lower rate for hauliers than for site operators. Amounts will be confirmed to registered users first.
